Wison Engineering wins $150m Sabic project deal

RIYADH, October 11, 2018

Chinese group Wison Engineering Services Company said one of its subsidiaries has secured a $150-million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Sabic for a utilities park and pilot plants project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The park and plants project is part of the ongoing Sabic Technology Centre expansion plan in the industrial city, marking Sabic's biggest investment in innovation, globally.

As per the deal, Wison Engineering Services Company is set to start work on the project and once the expansion is completed, the fully-integrated complex will be the biggest of Sabic's 21 global technology and innovation centres spread across different regions.

Earlier this year, Wison Engineering had set up the Middle East Operation Centre in Saudi Arabia, thus demonstrating the importance of the Middle East market in its global strategic development.

The Chinese group has delivered seven EPC projects on schedule to Sabic since 2012, said Zou Yu, the president of Wison Engineering (Middle East), after signing the deal with Dr Fahad Al Sherehy, Sabic vice-president, Technology and Innovation, in the presence of senior company officials.

"We are also glad to get the Sabic project again. Based on our rich successful experience of seven projects that Wison has delivered, we will continue working hard to achieve the successful delivery of the project with excellent management and project execution," stated Yu.

Zheng Shifeng, the senior vice-president of Wison Engineering, said: "The signing of the contract demonstrates the recognition of international clients for our capability to implement EPC projects in the petrochemical sector and enhances Wison Engineering's reputation among the suppliers of project owners, laying a foundation for us to fight for larger scale projects in the future."

"We will continue provide premier services to clients, strengthen the bond of trust with them and proactively respond to the Saudi Government's vision 2030 in order to create more values for local clients and drive social and economic development," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
