AMI plans plastics compounding, recycling expos

AMI, a leading provider of information, market intelligence, and events for the global plastics industry, will host the first Compounding World Expo and Plastics Recycling World Exhibition, later this year in Germany.

The events are taking place on June 27 and 28, 2018, in Essen.

Additionally, AMI also revealed plans to hold three free-to-attend exhibitions focused on plastics compounding, extrusion and recycling in Cleveland, Ohio, US, next year.

These events will take place on May 8 and 9, 2019.

The Compounding World Expo, Extrusion Expo and Plastics Recycling World Expo will be held in Halls B and C of the state-of-the-art Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland.

They will feature free-to-attend conference sessions, and will also hold a networking party for attendees and exhibitors at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, on the evening of May 8.

Andy Beevers, director of events, AMI, said: “We’ve been delighted by the very positive industry response to our first focused exhibitions that we are holding in Germany this June, and this has led to numerous requests for similar focused events in North America.”

“We selected Cleveland as the ideal location for the exhibitions because of its easy accessibility for huge numbers of compounders, extruders and recyclers,” he said.

“In addition, the city boasts excellent convention facilities, hotels, restaurants and entertainment options in its revitalised downtown,” he added.

Large numbers of leading industry players have already reserved booths for the Cleveland event, including Aaron Equipment. Kelly DeFino, events team manager at AMI’s US offices, said: “The reaction to our announcement to hold a free-to-attend compounding exhibition in the USA has been incredible.”

“We already have a broad selection of suppliers of polymers, additives and processing equipment on the expo floorplan with lots of interest in the remaining booths and new names being added on a weekly basis,” he added.
