Mepco recognised by Great Place to Work

RIYADH, March 14, 2018

The Middle East Paper Co (Mepco), a leading vertically-integrated paper manufacturer in the region, has been recognised by Great Place to Work, a global human resources consulting, research and training firm specialising in organisational trust, in Saudi Arabia.

The organisation’s research and management consulting firm assess award applicants from over 100 companies on a variety of parameters before choosing the company most deserving of the title in each market, said a statement.

The award scores are determined through an employee survey that measures company performance across key indicators including: credibility of management, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie, it said.

Mepco was shortlisted among the top 20 companies across all sectors, including SMEs and large corporates in the private sector, as well as public sector and non-profit companies. According to the annual benchmarking study released by the global research firm, Mepco won best ‘Great Place to Work’ in the manufacturing sector, it added.

Eng Sami Al Safran, CEO of Mepco, said: “Winning this prestigious award is purely a result of our belief in the importance of human capital, and creating opportunities for our staff to develop and grow in their careers.”

“We are fortunate to have our staff members for many decades, most of them are part of the senior management team. Another great attribute of our team is the diversity among nationalities. This diversity improves our collaborative efforts with people of different backgrounds contributing to strategic discussions and sharing expertise,” he said.

Eng Al Safran continued: “One of the most fundamental ways that we can preserve excellence in each layer of the company is by ensuring that our human capital is encouraged and rewarded and that our work environment is well maintained.”

“I am very pleased with our high rate of Saudization with Saudi nationals making up nearly half of our human capital. We will continue to enhance its workplace further by conducting more training programmes, career development, and establishing human resources policies. These elements play a significant role in incentivising our employees to do their best and go the extra mile,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
