Sejel Technology selects HPE platform

RIYADH, May 31, 2017

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), a multinational enterprise information technology company, has announced that Saudi Arabia’s Sejel Technology had selected HPE Synergy composable infrastructure platform for its data centre transformation.

Sejel is an established limited liability company focusing on management consulting services.

HPE Synergy has been chosen by Sejel Technology to meet the service levels required by the Ministry of Haj and Umra, which oversees the annual pilgrimage of more than 1 million Muslims to Makkah and 6 million for Umra, and help it support the rapid growth of online services and meet the objectives of the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision to develop the country’s economy, said a statement from the company.

With over 70 per cent of registrations being completed within the first 12 hours as the Haj season approaches each year, the E-Service needs to be able to handle extreme spikes of traffic.

Sejel also chose to deploy HPE Synergy on a premium Flexible Capacity model because this enables Sejel to manage the IT infrastructure in its own data centre but pay for it as-a-service.

Flexible Capacity reduces the risk of organizations investing too much – or too little – in IT, eliminates unused capacity, faster provisioning of compute and storage resources for unplanned business requirements, and frees up valuable IT resources for new value-adding projects.

Zoubair Skiredj, chief operating officer (COO) and chief information officer (CIO) at Sejel Technology, said: “HPE Synergy allows us to achieve dramatic gains in data centre efficiency and to accelerate application delivery.”

“This efficiency and speed of delivery is critical as the number of online services, as well as demand for those services, is growing all of the time. Furthermore, with the government looking to the future with its 2030 Vision, it was an obvious decision to choose the world’s first composable infrastructure platform and future-proof the data centre for the years ahead,” he said.

Wasim Al-Baroudi, datacenter and hybrid cloud country manager, HPE, said: “In today’s idea economy, infrastructure needs to be intelligent so that it can adapt to every workload and deliver services at lightning speed.”

“Our strategic partnership with Sejel and the deployment of HPE Synergy provides next generation IT solutions to accelerate the kingdom’s economy and meet the demands of the 2030 Vision,” he said.

“This partnership shows that the combination of advanced technology and innovative funding models is giving us a leading competitive position in the market,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
