K5 Middle East, a firefighting products, solutions and technologies company, will showcase the latest trends in fire safety at Intersec 2017, leading trade fair for security, safety and fire protection, to be held in Dubai, UAE.

The event, a leading trade fair for security, safety and fire protection, will take place from January 22 to 24, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

The company will display its uniquely designed fire suppression solutions made from pioneering K5 technology, a first-of-its-kind in the Middle East, which can efficiently extinguish Class A, B and C fires, complementing the UAE’s recently updated fire and life safety codes, said a statement from the company.

K5 Middle East’s latest offerings will help sustain the young nation’s leadership as a pioneering adopter of fire safety solutions, it said.

Complementing Dubai Civil Defence’s Strategic Plan 2017-2021 to reduce fire incidents by 10 per cent and the ratio of death caused by fire per 10,000 people by 15 per cent, K5 Middle East has developed a new product – the K5 Safety Patch, it added.

The K5 Safety Patch is a miniature self-contained, automatic, local fire suppression device that incorporates advanced K5 technology. It is used to provide fire protection to electrical equipment such as sockets and cabinets, junction boxes, power distribution boards, and other appliances that operate within a confined space, said a statement.

The patch is a self-adhesive, flexible plate that contains the K5 fire suppressing material and is available in various sizes with the capacity to protect volumes ranging from 0.02 and 60 cubic decimetres (dm3).

The device is available in five different models, including SPS, SP15, SP25, SP45 and SP60 as per the volume requiring protection, it said.
