Over 300 top firms gear up for SteelFab

More than 300 companies from 28 countries will be showcasing their surface engineering specialties and technologies, including material handling, at the SteelFab Middle East 2017, a leading annual event in the steel and iron industry in Sharjah, UAE.

The 13th edition of SteelFab 2017 is being organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

The prestigious event, which runs from January 16 to 19, will see over 900 national and international brands from 111 Emirati companies and 206 foreign companies being showcased over a 26,000-sq-m area at Expo Centre Sharjah.

This year, the number of exhibitors taking part at SteelFab from across the globe has increased to 317, said the organisers.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and chairman of UFI's MEA Chapter, dubbed the event as the leading and largest exhibition in the region specialised in steel fabrication and heavy industries.

It will also include seminars and discussion boards on modern technologies and applications that serve this important industry, especially in fields of welding, cutting, mechanical equipment, spare parts, pipelines, and technologies of resisting damage, stated Al Midfa.

He pointed out that the exhibition covers surface engineering specialties and technologies, including material handling.

Further, Al Midfa said this year’s exhibition features the second edition of “Fasteners World Middle East”, taking up an entire pavilion at the exhibition for fixing and fastening technologies.

The show will also welcome a large group of participants from the UAE and around the world, showcasing their latest inventions and technologies in the sector. This widespread participation comes amid speculations of maintained economic growth and mega projects in the region over the coming years.    

Calling upon major industrialists, businessmen and investors, Al Midfa said the expo will offer them golden opportunities to strike key partnerships and also get introduced to the most advanced technologies.

The event gathers pioneering companies on the regional and international levels in field of iron and metal industries from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, China, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Canada.

The event will include special pavillions, and will offer various live performances for entertainment, along with a number of technical seminars, said the organisers.

The exhibition offers the opportunity to explore cutting-edge equipment, advanced technologies, new products, and the modern applications of all forms of shaping metals and iron, they stated.

The exhibition also offers an opportunity for professionals, engineers, and university students to be introduced to the most advanced inventions, ideas, and exhibited products which can help local companies with improving their products for construction equipment, mining, welding, cutting, pipelines and other sectors, they added.-TradeArabia News Service
