Investment opportunities in Oman projects highlighted

MUSCAT, June 7, 2016

A total of 20 local investment units from both the public and private sectors including various pension funds and commercial banks in Oman attended a workshop conducted recently by the Omani Authority for Partnership for Development (OAPFD).

The workshop highlighted some successful offset projects and potential investment opportunities in Partnership for Development (PFD) Projects in Oman, reported Oman Daily Observer.

Dr Dhafir Awadh al Shanfari, CEO of OAPFD, highlighted the role of the PFD programme which is aimed at diversifying sources of national income and creating an efficient sustainable economy.

He further noted the importance of the PFD programme and the benefits that can be derived from its projects in developing the economy of the country.

He pointed at the sultanate’s infrastructures that encourage and facilitate both national and foreign investments. The sultanate is characterised by its geographical location, stable economy, strong infrastructure and political and social stability that aids investors to invest in Oman.

OAPFD presented available investment opportunities in PFD projects, such as, the Oman Aviation Academy (OAA), which is the first regional Flight Academy in Oman; and also the Oman Marine Biotechnology Center (OCMB) which is the first commercially operated research and development company in marine sciences in Oman.
