Ajman Free Zone launches new initiatives to draw SMEs

Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) has revealed that it will focus on innovative initiatives which could trigger a rise in investments to the free zone and overall in the UAE.

Following the announcement of their successful international expansion earlier this year, AFZ is proactively assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to set up their business in a fast and an efficient manner, said a statement from the free zone.  

The free zone is involved in providing first rate and quality assured services and amenities in order to bring in a concentrated focus in the business, it said.

The Ajman Free Zone recently announced a slew of services which are considered to be first in the business:

• Instalments.
• Modular warehouse space starting from 100 sq m called as ‘Smart Warehouses’.
• Licenses in 24 hours.
• Multiple international offices facilitating easy access for prospective clients to set up their company.

The free zone has been rolling out a slew of pioneering measures to increasingly attract SME and other categories of investors to its premises which now houses over 15,000 companies. AFZ has also been taking these new investment platforms to global investor community in key markets across the world through road shows and participation in exhibitions with positive responses, said the statement.

Mahmood Al Hashemi, general manager, AFZ, said: “After the global expansion plans in early 2016, we would now like to synergise our focus on the offering being made at the end-user level.”

“These novel services by AFZ are a part of continuing array of investor-friendly measures adopted by the free zone in recent times to catalyse inward investments. At the core our new business strategy is to present investment options to a large audience of entrepreneurs from across the world within their respective budgets and requirements to catalyse on the business growth,” he said.

Nader Eldesouky, deputy director general, AFZ, said: “We are reinforcing our commitment to enable growth opportunities and economic development to the customers through our offerings.”

“Our free zone has the required qualifications to provide a variety of services to both Eastern and Western markets making it extremely suitable for investments.
