PIM senior executive to present paper at conference
UK, February 11, 2016
UK-based Plant Integrity Management (PIM) has announced that its managing director Steven Plant will be presenting a paper at the upcoming ‘Risk Based Inspection and Maintenance’ conference in Saudi Arabia next week.
Established in 2011, PIM is a leading consultancy and strategic management support for critical plant and equipment - helping clients manage the function and integrity of their assets.
The event will take place on February 15 and 16, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Jubail.
He will deliver his presentation, ‘Optimising and sustaining the reliability of equipment through an asset’s lifecycle’, on the first-day of the event, said a statement.
Plant said: “I will challenge existing RBI practice including the value of detailed American Petroleum Institute (API) assessments. These will be debated and consideration will be given to whether they are justified.”
“My talk will cover a review of integrity related failures and the associated root cause analyses as well as discussing the key requirements for a cost effective, risk based inspection programme which is sustainable even when, as now, the oil price is low,” he said.
“The oil and gas industry continues to face challenging times with no clear end to the low oil price in sight. Irrespective of economic conditions an asset’s reliability is key, as is the need to maximise the lifespan of the equipment on the asset and minimise downtime,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
