Universal Electro-Engineering (UNEECO) of Bahrain is putting the spotlight on its type-tested enclosures for electrical switchboards at the Gulf Industry Fair.

“We are expecting a good response for the enclosures at the fair,” says UNEECO CCO and board member V Jayashankar.

The enclosures are assembled at UNEECO’s facility in Hidd using components imported from Europe, he says, adding that the facility represents a major step towards indigenous manufacture for the company.

Other products on display include diesel generators and capacitor banks. “Capacitor banks for power factor improvement are an important part of our product line,” says Jayashankar.

UNEECO represents world-renowned manufacturers in the field of electrical, electronics, communication and security equipment, products and services. The company, which now conforms to the latest IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards, recently won the sole distributorship for F G Wilson products in the kingdom, says Jayashankar.

A prime division of the Uneeco Group, UNEECO was established in 1976 and is managed by Abdulrahman Juma. The ISO 9001:2000-certified company offers medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) electrical equipment, components and accessories. For LV, it has a switchgear assembly factory that sources quality TTA (type tested assembly) equipment from Merlin Gerin, Prisma Plus and Blokset.

In addition, it is Schneider Electric’s franchised panel builder for the Prisma and Blokset range of LV switchboards.

UNEECO’s partners include Schneider Electric for LV components and 11 kV switchgear; ring main units (RMUs) for LV fuse boards, and transformers; Al Ahleia Switchgear for 11 kV panels, RMUs and, transformers; Saudi Transformers for oil type transformers and package substations; Tyco Electronics for Raychem termination kits and Simel lugs; Aiphone for video and audio intercom systems; Pauwels for power transformers; Osaki for mechanical and electronic energy meters; and Cembre for lugs.
