PetroRabigh to restart most ops after 50-day shutdown

DUBAI, December 1, 2015

Saudi Arabia's PetroRabigh will restart most operations at its refining and petrochemical complex on Thursday after a 50-day planned maintenance period, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company's high olefin cracker unit and its subordinate units will remain offline as further maintenance is carried out, with this additional work expected to last until December 30, it said.

The financial impact of the extra maintenance will be determined later, PetroRabigh added.

The firm, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Japan's Sumitomo Chemical, brought its complex offline on October 11, work that was estimated at the time to reduce its gross profit for the fourth quarter of this year by SR900 million ($240 million). - Reuters
