Russia plans to fund major projects in Iran
IRAN, November 18, 2015
Russia is planning to provide funding for two major projects worth $2 billion in Iran, following the recent nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, said a senior Russian official.
“We have met with our Iranian colleagues in Moscow, and are considering participation and contributing credit towards the two projects in Iran,” Anton Siluanov, Russian Finance Minister, was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily report, citing Tass.
Siluanov made the announcements on the margins of the recent G20 Summit, added the report.
Following the nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, foreign business executives and financial bodies are shuttling to Iran to lay the groundwork for investment and trade.
