Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) will increase its foreign ownership limit to 49 per cent from Tuesday, the Qatar Central Securities Depository said in a statement on Monday.

Nakilat has received approvals for the increase from its shareholders and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the statement said.

Foreign ownership was previously capped at 25 per cent, bourse data showed.

Qatar's emir last year instructed all companies listed on the stock exchange to raise their foreign ownership limits to 49 per cent as part of reforms aimed at expanding the stock market and developing the financial industry.-Reuters
