DUBAI, October 16, 2015

Honeywell, an industry leader in wireless and scanning technologies used in home, building, and industrial applications, is set to demonstrate some of its latest Internet-connected products at the Gitex Technology Week in Dubai, UAE.

The 35th edition of the event will run from October 18 to 22 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

As part of its commitment to developing solutions that improve the quality of life for people around the world, Honeywell has actively focused on shaping and adding value to the Internet of Things (IoT), said a statement.

The company, which has a history of innovation stretching back for more than 125 years, is keen to help its customers capture the value being created by IoT, which experts predict will have an economic impact of between $3.9 trillion and $11.1 trillion per year in 2025, it said.

At Gitex, visitors will get a closer look at how Honeywell is empowering mobile workers with real-time information using the company’s new Dolphin CT50 handheld mobile computer, which streamlines operations and maximizes worker efficiencies by enabling them to make better decisions and increase customer satisfaction by wirelessly accessing enterprise systems, customer information and the Internet.

Also on display will be Honeywell’s lifestyle-enhancing LYNX Touch, which allows consumers to control their home security system, lights, locks and thermostats, view video and more all from a central touchscreen or on mobile devices around their home.

The event will also see a preview of Honeywell's Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat in action, which allows home and business owners remote access to A/C controllers through a computer, tablet, or smart phone through Honeywell's highly rated Total Connect Comfort app, available on the iTunes store and Google Play.

Norm Gilsdorf, president, Honeywell Middle East, Russia and Central Asia, said: “Honeywell is known worldwide for its expertise in inventing and manufacturing technologies that address the world’s toughest challenges, and with the evolution of connected devices and the Internet of Things (IoT) we see a great opportunity to create the technology that will make the connected worker, the connected home and the connected building a reality."
