Iran petchem firm’s exports hit $1.6bn

IRAN, October 5, 2015

A total of 2.48 million tonnes of petrochemical products worth $1.629 billion was exported by Iran's Petrochemical Commercial Company from March 21 to September 22, a report said.

The company expects that once phases 15-18 of South Pars Gas Field development projects become operational, exports will be further boosted, added the Iran Daily report, citing Shana.

Based on Oil Ministry's policy discouraging the sales of raw materials in a bid to boost employment, the company's annual production of petrochemicals can rise to 120 million tonnes, it said.

It can reach 180 million tonnes with an investment of $41 billion, added the report.
