Al-Mannai ... new president and CEO at Milaha

Qatar Navigation names new president

DOHA, September 12, 2015

Qatar Navigation (Milaha), a leader in marine transportation and offshore support, has appointed Abdulrahman Essa Al-Mannai as its new president and chief executive officer.

He will succeed Khalifa Ali Al Hetmi, who had previously announced his plan to retire, said a statement from the company.

Al-Mannai brings with him extensive experience in LNG, gas-to-liquids, condensates, shipping and commercial marketing, and has demonstrated a strong record of success.  

He had previously led the commercial planning and allocation functions at Qatargas. Having spent his career with Qatargas, he had overseen many areas, including the commercial function of UK’s South Hook LNG Terminal, which is Europe’s largest LNG regasification terminal and handles a significant percentage of the UK’s gas requirements.

Chairman Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, said: "Given his robust commercial background, his experience in many of our core sectors, and his record of performance at Qatargas, the board and I have full confidence in his abilities to continue Milaha’s strong performance and lead our future growth plans."

“We are very pleased and excited to have Al Mannai join the Milaha family, and look forward to his leadership in continuing our journey of sustainable growth,” he stated.

On his appointment, Al Mannai said: "I am extremely humbled and proud to be entrusted with this opportunity by Milaha’s board of directors."
