Imdaad awarded for ‘commitment to sustainability’

DUBAI, May 27, 2015

Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities and waste management solutions in the GCC, has been named ‘Green Facility Management Organisation of the Year’ at the 2015 Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) Awards for its commitment to sustainability.

The award ceremony was recently hosted at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, Dubai, UAE.

Dr Thani Ahmed Al-Zayoudi, director of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Energy and Climate Change Department was the guest of honour at the event, said a statement from the company.

Imdaad has always supported the cause of sustainability with an aim to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint, and has backed that claim through its various initiatives like green solutions and also promoting recycling, it added.

Through its continuous efforts Imdaad became the first and only facilities management (FM) company in the UAE to operate garbage collection vehicles on bio fuel in addition to having a trained staff to offer Green Building FM services to client, further added the statement.

The company acquires eco-friendly equipment and prioritises sustainability across all its operations.

It also conducts recycling training for its clients, corporate partners and staff, in addition to providing free recycling bins in certain projects where it handles waste management and collection services, said the statement.   

Jamal Abdullah Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “Imdaad has a dedicated team of trained professionals for implementing Green Building FM services along with highly specialised equipments for waste collection and sorting of recyclables.

“Moreover, we continue to develop and launch awareness programmes to educate the local community about sustainable FM and waste management solutions that can lead to a greener, healthier environment for the present and future generations,” he said.
