DMCA sponsors offshore journal summit
DUBAI, May 6, 2015
Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority which regulates the emirate’s maritime sector, has announced its sponsorship of the upcoming Middle East Offshore Journal Conference 2015.
The conference will be held under the theme ‘Strategic and Operational Challenges Facing Overseas Support Vessels Owners’ from May 19 to 20 at the Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina in Dubai, UAE.
Amer Ali, executive director, DMCA, said: “The inaugural Middle East Offshore Journal Conference held last year was highly effective in initiating a dialogue regarding the challenges faced by the Middle East’s offshore support sector.”
“DMCA is participating in the conference for the second time as its Platinum Sponsor because the conference’s objectives complement its Maritime Sector Strategy which is aimed at positioning Dubai as the leading international maritime center.
“The conference will be a wonderful occasion for us to interact with global industry experts and stakeholders, while also holding brainstorming sessions about innovative solutions, best practices and the latest trends in the global industry. In addition, it will also give us the opportunity to promote Dubai as an exceptionally attractive maritime destination investment haven for maritime support activities,” he added.
The current edition of the Middle East Offshore Journal Conference will be a platform for the offshore support industry, including leading ship owners, ship builders, oil and gas operators, financiers, designers, suppliers, and OEMs to discuss ways to improve efficiency and safety in the industry and the latest advances in technology.
The last year’s conference received positive feedback from participants who were impressed by its interactive and open-discussion format where they debated on issues such as market trends, crewing and training, vessel design and construction, vessel performance, energy efficiency, dynamic positioning, and new opportunities.
Offshore Support Journal (OSJ) is circulated in more than 1,000 national and private oil companies and contractors as well as more than 2,200 ship-owners, operators and managing companies of support vessels globally.
It organizes the largest specialist conference on offshore support vessels in the world annually in London, UK. OSJ conferences have also taken place in Singapore and the US. – TradeArabia News Service
