Qatar’s GWC partners with UPS

DOHA, May 4, 2015

Qatar’s leading logistics provider Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC) has signed an agreement with United Parcel Service (UPS)  to become the ‘authorised service contractor’ for its express parcel service in Qatar from June.

The agreement allows GWC to provide UPS products and services, including express parcel delivery, as well as access to the UPS global network serving over 220 countries and territories worldwide, according to a report by the Peninsula Qatar.

The agreement aims at providing an improved service portfolio for Qatari customers including better pick-up and delivery times and the option of integrated solutions including multi-modal offerings, contract logistics and brokerage.

There will also be an emphasis on improved technology to provide customers with shipping tools, visibility tools and track and trace tools, it added.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Fahad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al-Thani, Chairman of GWC, said the partnership will help local and international businesses within Qatar by offering both speed of transit and a high level of customer service.
