2015 Aluminium Middle East .... saw 40 Chinese companies participate

Chinese out in force at ME aluminium event

DUBAI, April 16, 2015

The fourth edition of the biennial Aluminium Middle East event saw strong participation from Chinese companies who are eager to strengthen their relations with the Middle East which is among the fastest growing economic regions in the world.

The 2015 Aluminium Middle East a three-day event which is being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dubai, UAE, began on April 14.

A total of 40 companies from China, along with 12 companies from Germany and Italy are showcasing their products and services at the event, all which fall under a wide spectrum of specialisations within the aluminium industry, said a statement.

The event organised by Reed Exhibitions Middle East has received a total of around 200 exhibitors from 30 countries, and participation of over 4,000 industry professionals from 75 countries, it added.

The Middle East’s largest aluminium industry platform is taking place against the backdrop of the aluminium industry witnessing a new level of extraordinary growth and the Middle East consolidating its position as a powerhouse of the world’s aluminium industry.

The Middle East region, especially the UAE, the Arab world’s largest aluminium producer with an extensive industrial and manufacturing base, offers immense growth opportunity for the global industry players, further added a statement.

According to a latest industry report, the aluminium market faces the prospect of a growing surge of supply from China this year that could disrupt expectations of a global deficit.

A divergence in prices between China and the rest of the world could affect exports and limit aluminium’s price gains this year, said analysts.

Leading consultancy CRU forecasts a global deficit of 600,000 tonnes this year but a one million tonne surplus for China. The difference in prices has driven exports of fabricated forms of the metal, as companies lobby the government for a lifting of taxes that limit exports of the primary product, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
