25 Alba staff win Green Belt in Six Sigma

MANAMA, March 19, 2015

Twenty-five employees of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), one of the leading aluminium smelters in the world, were certified as Green Belt in Six Sigma during an awarding ceremony recently.

bolstered its commitment to continuous improvement across the organisation when 25 of its employees  held on March 11, 2015.

The awarding ceremony was held in the presence of CEO Tim Murray, executive management, managers, Alba Union, Opex and guests from Bapco, Toyota and APM Terminals.

The employees’ selection was based on the successful completion of their various Lean Six Sigma projects, which helped in optimising the processes and decreasing operational costs within Project Titan.  

A specialised panel discussion was also held, which was an important knowledge sharing forum for members within as well as outside Alba.

Murray congratulated the Green Belts and reiterated the management team's commitment towards Project Titan.

He stated: “Operational efficiency and global competitiveness are part of the core values of Alba. It is encouraging to see employees aligning themselves with our values and contributing towards our continuous improvement. We wish the certified Green Belts all the best in their future endeavours and look forward to more participation from employees.” - TradeArabia News Service
