Gefco inks deal with Dubai logistics firm

DUBAI, February 23, 2015

Gefco Middle East, a leader in the automotive logistics sector, said it has signed a long-term logistics service agreement with Dubai-based RSA Logistics, to support the storage services for finished vehicles.

The agreement is aimed at catering to the growing demand for FVL (Finish Vehicles Logistics) in the region.

As per the deal, RSA will be providing just over 100,000 sqm of logistics space along with IT support, security and resources to assist in the operation, said Abhishek Ajay Shah, the managing director at RSA Logistics after signing the deal with Stefano Pollotti, the managing director of Gefco Dubai.

Shah said RSA logistics always believed in a tailored solution for all of its customers and relationship with Gefco was no different.

"We listened to our customer; understood their needs and are now implementing it to make it a reality. This is very fulfilling and we hope to grow further in the automotive vertical and this is a good step in achieving that goal," he noted.

Established in 2007, RSA logistics has developed a major presence in the UAE as a logistics provider, offering contract logistics, freight forwarding, distribution, and supply chain management services.

The company’s rapid growth and expansion plans have seen the establishment of a joint venture which will specifically serve the chemical and petrochemical industries, and cater to the storage of hazardous and non-hazardous material, he added.

Pollotti said the agreement with RSA will support the growth of the FVL activity in the region.

"We believe in the integrated logistics solutions to improve the supply chain of our customer. The quality and highest standard of the service level are our credo," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
