Boeing to showcase defence, security portfolio at Idex

ABU DHABI, February 18, 2015

Boeing is set to showcase a diverse portfolio of products and services at a leading defence and security event in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, to take place in Abu Dhabi, UAE this month.

The biennial International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex) will run from February 22 to 26 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

Paul Oliver, vice president for International Business Development, Middle East and Africa, Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), said: “While the overall global defence environment continues to be challenging, we continue to see growth relative to defence, security and humanitarian products and services.”

The firm’s international sales currently represent roughly 30 per cent of BDS’ business and we see continued opportunities for growth, particularly in the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions, he said.

"We continue to work closely with the UAE and other government and defense forces in the region who will be present at Idex and play a key role in enhancing security in the region. We are committed to long-term partnerships as to being a good corporate citizen. This is fundamental to Boeing’s philosophy," he added.

Boeing’s advanced capabilities to meet security requirements in the region will include C-17 Globemaster III, AH-64D Apache, AH-6i, and CH-47 Chinook helicopters, Multi-Role Fighters (F-15, F/A-18), ScanEagle/Integrator UAV’s, Maritime and ISR Aircraft, and V-22.

Jeff Johnson, president of Boeing Middle East, will also be available during the show for a limited number of interviews with members of the media to provide an update on BDS opportunities and activities within the Middle East market. - TradeArabia News Service
