Eamco stand at the Gulf Industry Fair

Eamco showcases prowess at show

MANAMA, February 4, 2015

Flagship companies of Eastern Asphalt and Mixed Concrete Company (Eamco) are showcasing their diverse range of services for the construction industry at the Gulf Industry Fair (GIF) in Bahrain.

Among them is Eastern Precast - the largest company within the group - which has registered excellent business over the past year, according to Erich Witzgall, general manager.

“We expect 2015-16 to be even better, given the uptrend in the Bahrain market,” he adds.

Eastern Precast is currently focusing on developing new products that offer thermal insulation in line with the company’s goal of promoting eco-friendly construction.  Having produced thermal-insulated wall panels, it is now developing thermally-insulated lightweight panels.

At GIF, the company is showcasing the attributes of its latest product - jumbo slabs - which are available in a range of colours and surface finishes including with a nano protective coating. Developed in response to market requirements for large slabs, they are available in sizes measuring 1,200 mm by 1,200 or 600 mm by 1,200 mm in thicknesses to suit client requirements.

Eastern Precast, which this year marks three decades of service to the Bahrain market, specialises in the manufacture and erection of full-frame building systems including columns, beams and slabs, hollow-core slabs and other precast concrete elements.

The company is poised to complete delivery in March of full-frame systems, including staircases and hollow-core slabs, for the Hedaya Tower, an 11-storey building in Manama. It is also supplying precast systems for the Galleria Mall in Zinj, for Dadabhai Construction, as well as for a hospital and car-parks for the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF).

Eastern Precast, which has a workforce of around 2,000 – many of whom have completed 10 to 15 years of service with the company - has one of the biggest design offices and one of the largest truck and cranes fleets in Bahrain.

Eamco was established in 1976 as a partnership between Abdul Aziz Mansoor Al A’Ali and Ahmed Mansoor Al A’Ali, to manufacture asphalt and construct roads and supply readymixed concrete to contractors on the island.

Its flagship division Eastern Asphalt has been involved in major roads construction and contributed considerably in building the road network all over Bahrain.  Other major divisions include Eastern Ready Mix, which produces high-quality ready-mixed concrete and has been a major contributor to infrastructural and housing projects in Bahrain and Abdul Aziz Aluminium, which fabricates aluminium components for the construction sector.

The three-day Fair will conclude at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre tomorrow (Feb 5).

Eamco is present at Stand D57.
