PSA Marine wins Oman towage contract

MUSCAT, January 10, 2015

PSA Marine Qalhat, a joint venture between Singapore-headquartered PSA Marine and Oman-based Golden Dunes International (GDI), has won a 10-year contract to provide towage services at the marine terminal of Oman LNG (OLNG) in Sur area of the sultanate.

As per the deal, PSA Marine Qalhat will deploy four new-built tugs for Oman LNG, reported the Oman Daily Observer.

The four tugboats, each with a 65-tonne bollard pull, have since arrived in Qalhat and will go into operation on January 11, it added.

OLNG, a joint venture between the Omani Government (51 per cent), Shell (30 per cent) and other notable global energy players, is currently Oman’s only exporter of liquefied natural gas.
