DMCA showcases Dubai’s maritime strategy

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, showcased Dubai’s maritime sector strategy accomplishments at a conference in Dubai, UAE, recently.

The seventh annual Middle East ShipTech Conference 2014  was designed to explore and identify the take away strategies for the Middle East and how the region can best apply technology to maximise energy efficiency, fuel economy and safety in shipping, said a statement.

The authority also discussed the implementation process of the initiatives related to the development of maritime services and optimisation of the local infrastructure in order to build a revived and secure maritime sector that can drive Dubai’s transformation into a first-class international maritime hub.

Amer Ali, executive director, DMCA, said: “Through our participation in ShipTech Middle East 2014, we aim to shed more light on the Dubai Maritime Sector Strategy which is specifically designed to make a radical change in the maritime industry and contribute to Dubai’s leading position as an international centre for navigation and maritime services. It follows a set of foundations and essential values based on leadership, excellence in customer service, creativity, cooperation, human wealth and conservation of the marine environment.”

The conference brought ship owners and industry professionals together to exchange international expertise in maritime innovation and showcase latest techniques for business continuity.

The event also featured the latest industry trends and discusses maritime dynamics and required technologies with leading experts, speakers and professionals from all over the world. - TradeArabia News Service
