Aluminium Bahrain’s (Alba) management and Alba Labour Union have launched a new Family Health Insurance package for its employees.

With effect from January 1 next year, the new package will be optional for the employees who are willing to insure their families and will part share the cost of the insurance, said a statement.

Tim Murray, chief executive officer, said: “Alba owes its success to the employees and thanks them for their contribution towards the company’s success. Employees’ well-being and safety has always been our number one priority, and we are pleased to announce the new benefits for the employees.

“The management expresses thanks to Alba board for appreciating the employees and the Alba Labour Union for their continuous support.”

Meanwhile, the Summer Heat allowance scheme has been revised based on the working conditions and accordingly implemented for all eligible employees, said the statement.

The firm’s  management has also upgraded to the existing Merit System to include safety in the performance criteria, it said.

Ali Al Binali, Alba’s Labour Union chairman, said: “We are truly thankful to the Alba board and executive management for announcing Family Health Insurance for all employees as well as the new benefits.
