Visitors at the Saudi Agriculture 2014

Saudi Agriculture 2014 attracts 25,000 visitors

RIYADH, September 11, 2014

More than 25,000 local, regional and international visitors took part in the Saudi Agriculture 2014, which concluded yesterday.

The event hosted 350 exhibitors from 40 countries who showcased the latest industry products and technologies.

The four-day international agriculture, water and agro-industry trade show held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre shed light on a variety of industry leading solutions and products represented under various categories, including agriculture building construction, animal health and production, finance and banking, machinery and equipment, chemicals and fertilisers, fisheries and fish farming, greenhouses, irrigation and landscaping equipment, and organic farming.

Dr Tarun Bajaj, head of the Indian pavilion, said: “Business relations between India and the kingdom continues to remain strong and has resulted in remarkable growth in the agriculture and agro-food fields--where Indian food exports to the kingdom currently stand at over $2 billion and still continues to increase. We are aware of the major role played by Saudi Agriculture in easing the communication with our local industry pillars to further support business cooperation and therefore, we have been participating regularly for the past four years to highlight our various selection of best-of-breed products, technology and investment opportunities. Our participation this year has increased into 50 companies, which is up from 30 in the last edition and we look forward to furthering our participation in the 2015 edition.”

From another side, Daniel Cunningham, Commercial attaché from the Irish embassy, said: “Agriculture sector forms around 47 per cent of the total Irish exports to Saudi Arabia valued at €1.1 billion ($1.42 billion). Saudi Agriculture is an anchor event that offers our companies the right platform to promote our leading products in the fields of engineering, equipment and waste water technology solutions. The feedback from our first year at Saudi Agriculture was very positive and we are glad with the quality of visitors and topics being discussed and look forward for a bigger participation next year.” - TradeArabia News Service
