GPIC wins top British health-safety award

Bahrain-based petrochemicals major GPIC has won the British Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)'s health and safety award for the chemicals sector.

At an event held under the patronage of British Queen Elizabeth in London, GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery received the award from RoSPA vice-president Lord Brougham and Vaux in the presence of a number of international dignitaries in the field of occupational safety, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

GPIC is the only institution in the world to have won the Robert Campbell Award from the National Safety Council in the US, and the Order of Sir George Earl of RoSPA, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
