Alba receives students from US university

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) recently welcomed a student delegation from Susquehanna University, Pennsylvania, US who visited Bahrain to know more about the kingdom and see first-hand the business of Alba.

The team, comprising 25 students along with Dean of the Business School Marsha Kelliher and head of the Accounting Department Dr Jerry Habeggar, was in Bahrain from April 10 to 14.

They not only visited Alba but also the downstream aluminium companies as well as numerous tourist destinations in Bahrain.

Over their five-day visit, the students were given a full tour of all Alba operations and briefed about Alba’s state-of-the art production processes as well as briefed on the safety and environment values of the company. The students interacted with the executive management team and other managers and learned more about Alba’s achievements, overall global reach and future prospects.

A visit to Bahrain’s aluminium downstream companies was also arranged for the students to gain more knowledge about Alba’s contribution to the national economy of Bahrain.

Chief executive Tim Murray said: “Alba places great value on sharing its knowledge and expertise with students as they are the future leaders. This visit provided many new insights for the students and we hope that they will always remember their visit and take back the positive message about life in Bahrain".

The students remarked that the visit helped them to learn more about Alba and its processes, and were impressed to learn about the giant strides that the company has made on the environment and social fronts. - TradeArabia News Service
