Gulfex posts solid growth in revenue, output

Dubai, March 22, 2014

Dubai-based Gulf Extrusions (Gulfex), a leading global manufacturer of extruded aluminium products, witnessed solid growth in 2013 with a surge in market share, said a top official.

The company registered an increase in revenues as well as production volume mainly due to its expansion initiatives - expanding into new sectors and winning new projects, remarked its general manager Modar Al Mekdad.

He pointed out that the two big markets of Gulfex - Middle East and the US - have reported the largest shares of aluminium sales, while the GCC and European regions have also shown a significant increase in demand.

"The excellent performance in 2013 has affirmed that we are moving in the right direction - having achieved what we had set out for the year. We now have a unified factory that adheres to global standards through which we are able to respond to market needs as well as produce a diversified range of aluminium products," he noted.

"All these factors have resulted in a strong portfolio for the company, enabling us to gain a competitive advantage as well as a core competency to venture into unexplored markets and address new industries," he added.

It is part of Gulfex’s business strategy to determine new growth paths and follow them with an aim to diversify its line of production by targeting different industry sectors, stated Al Mekdad.

As a result, the company has been able to successfully penetrate different sectors such as marine and aviation and offer a huge variety of aluminium products that comply with market demands. This success has also enabled Gulfex to enter fresh markets and target new industry divisions.

Gulf Extrusions, a metal industries company and a member of the Al Ghurair Group, produces aluminium-extruded profiles ranging from architectural, industrial and automotive sections to components for windows, furniture, marine applications, transportation, and customized products.

It also extrudes aluminium for several European customers and companies. Gulf Extrusions was the first extrusion company in the GCC to receive the Emirates Quality Mark certification from the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from the Dubai Quality Group.-TradeArabia News Service
