GPIC wins key IFA certification

Bahrain-based Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) said it has received a certificate from the International Fertiliser Association (IFA) for protection and sustainability.

This follows the completion of a two-phase evaluation by Norwegian company DNV GL according to the principles of protection and sustainability of the International Fertiliser Association, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery said the company had committed to and followed rigorous procedures in all issues related to work safety, security and management of products, and strengthened its goals of sustainable development along with key performance indicators and targets.

Dr Jawahery also pointed out that prudent use of the latest management systems standards was proving to be one of the most effective tools used by the company to continue its journey of continuous improvement.

The management of GPIC is fully committed to comply with international standards in order to build a system of management that has allowed the company to win certification in quality standards and a certificate of quality environmental standards and a certificate of quality management systems standards of occupational health and safety; also receiving a certificate of quality management IT security.

The company has become the first in the Gulf region to have completed all the requirements of the British Institute of Standards and to be recognised as worthy of PAS-99, the first integrated management system in the world.-TradeArabia News Service
