Emirates Steel staged an event to reinforce employee knowledge in all aspects of health and safety.

Held under the theme “Safety is my Responsibility,” the event added force to the procedures in place and built on the company’s improvement in lost time accidents and injury rates within its plants.

The initiative, the second in a series, reinforced awareness on health and safety issues, provided useful information and practical advice, encouraged activities that have a positive impact in the workplace, and identified and recognised good practice.

More than 750 employees took part in the activities, alongside company management, civil defence, and other official organisations.

The event was highlighted by safety equipment displays and first aid demonstrations. In addition, 48 employees donated blood to a voluntary donation facility, while others were instructed on health awareness issues by attending short presentations on first aid basics and occupational health and safety hazards, such as confined space entry. - TradeArabia News Service
