Marsol clinches Fujairah port contract

Dubai-based global marine solutions provider, Marsol International, has secured a 10-year operation and maintenance contract from Fujairah Asia Power Company (FAPCo) for the management, inspection, repair, maintenance and operation of the single point mooring terminal at Fujairah port.
Marsol’s team has been operating in the marine terminal sector since 1968 and has provided expertise in over 32 offshore marine terminals in more than 20 countries, said a senior official.
The company offers a range of services globally focused on terminal management, terminal maintenance, marine operations, SPM design and review and terminal ancillary products.
Since 2008, Marsol has worked on several long and short-term oil terminal-related projects in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
“This is a very important contract for Marsol and a natural continuation of our presence in the area,” remarked Mike Young, the managing director of Marsol International.
“Over a number of years of working in Fujairah, and with an office based there, we have been providing innovative and unconventional new technologies leading to time and cost efficient solutions to the market. This contract highlights the long term commitment of Marsol to developing the capabilities we can offer and utilising the local resources in Fujairah,” he added.
Fujairah Asia Power Company is the owner of the 2000 MW and 130 MIGD power and desalination facility at Qidfa in the emirate, approximately 280 km east of the city of Abu Dhabi.
Marsol operates globally in the marine engineering, subsea and associated offshore oil and gas sectors. The company has offices in Dubai, Fujairah, and Abu Dhabi with partners in Houston, Epsom, Aberdeen, Rotterdam, Brest, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
