DIBS to draw top global marine firms

Dubai, January 30, 2012

Leading companies in the global marine equipment industry will be at this year's Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) as the market regains strength and price pressures ease, according to the event organisers.

The DIBS, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, will be kick off on March 13 at the Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi and run till March 17.

Due to market recovery and a strong demand from boat builders across the GCC requiring the most advanced innovations in marine equipment, exhibitor numbers have strengthened, said a senior official of Dubai World Trade Centre, the show organisers.

“The 2012 boat show is a celebration of the events achievements over the last 20 years and brings to the region key international exhibitors of the world’s best and most luxurious marine supplies and services and places them in front of local and worldwide potential buyers,” said Trixee Loh, senior VP of DWTC.

The event will gather more than 750 exhibitors, many of which specialise in the latest marine equipment and services available to regional boat builders, he stated.

“For nearly two decades, the show has been the focus of the leisure marine industry in the Middle East. It  provides a perfect venue, world-class exhibitors and an outstanding business platform,” Loh added.

Major companies including Exalto Emirates, Elcome, Gulf Development Systems, Japan Marine Equipments, MTU, Al-Dhawi Diesel Engine, Clement Systems Gulf, Cummins ME, Dubai Ship Building and Engineering, Al-Ghandi Group, Sunset Marine Equipment and Yamaha will fill the indoor area with their latest products - starting from deck fittings and fixtures to engines and navigational equipment.-TradeArabia News Service
