National Paints awarded ISO eco certification

Sharjah-based National Paints Factories said it has recently been awarded the ISO 14001:2004-environmental management systems certificate from the UK accredited certification body, BM Trada.

The accreditation was given after a thorough inspection of the National Paints environmental facilities of processes, systems and equipments by the prominent multi-sector certification auditors group.

One of the largest paint manufacturing and industrial marketing organisations in the Gulf region, National Paints already has received an ISO-9001:2000 accreditation.

The ISO 14001:2004 is a global standard that provides organisations with a specific set of requirements for an environmental management system, which is needed to enable the development and implementation of a fully-compliant Environmental Management Program (EMP).

The certification further enables the organisation to create environmental policies and objectives needed to meet the commitments set by the EMP; promoting further performance improvement and organisational conformity.

Salim Al Sayegh, managing director and partner of National Paints Factories, said, “Since 1977, we have been manufacturing and marketing our various products to satisfy our local as well as international customers.

"By receiving this certification increases our environmental and social responsibilities in all of our systems and practices."

National Paints manufactures and markets a wide range of paints; giving special importance to the production of environmentally-friendly, solvent free, low VOC, solvent less, water based products. Its broad product portfolio, comprises paints and accessories used for the decorative, industrial and marine sector.

It has received a number of awards in recognition of its quality and uniqueness of its products and services.

In 2009, it received the Certificate of Conformity and the Quality Mark for the production of emulsion paints from the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).

The company has also received top honours from the Sharjah Excellence Awards Committee in the industrial category for 2001, 2003 & 2006 years.-TradeArabia News Service
