Cleveland Clinic to share expertise at Arab Health 2020

, January 21, 2020

Leading physicians and healthcare management experts from Cleveland Clinic in the UAE, United States, Canada and its upcoming UK hospital will be sharing their vision of healthcare excellence and advances in treatments during the 2020 Arab Health event to be held in Dubai from January 27 to 30.

Cleveland Clinic has a longstanding association with Arab Health, providing Continuing Medical Education accreditation for the annual event’s conference sessions. This involves independently verifying the conference content is accurate, unbiased and up to date, and that it adheres to all relevant international professional and ethical standards.

Dr Nizar Zein, Chairman of Global Patient Services for Cleveland Clinic, who will be attending as part of the 27-strong international contingent, says: “Cleveland Clinic’s expanding global presence is very noticeable in our diverse geographical list of delegates this year. Arab Health provides a forum for knowledge-sharing across borders, which reflects our system of a global healthcare network collaborating to advance medical expertise and improve patient outcomes.”

In total, 33 physicians from the global Cleveland Clinic network will be moderating and speaking at sessions across the four-day event.

Dr Rakesh Suri, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, says: “We are delighted to have so many of our own physicians sharing their knowledge at the conference this year. Since we opened in Abu Dhabi in 2015 as a partnership between Cleveland Clinic and Mubadala Investment Company, we have become known for our pioneering practices, including having the only multi-organ transplant program in the UAE, and performing the nation’s first successful cadaveric heart, liver and lung transplants. We are committed to building the healthcare system of the future and are already training students in medical specialties, nursing allied health care professions, as well as advancing research and innovation in the nation.

“We feel privileged to share our expertise at this platform, and contribute to establishing the UAE as a hub for medical innovation in the region.”

While Cleveland Clinic already has a presence across the US, Canada and in the UAE, it is expanding further, with a London outpatient clinic opening this year ahead of Cleveland Clinic London hospital opening in 2021.

Another international delegate, Dr Tommaso Falcone M.D., Chief of Staff, Chief Academic Officer and Medical Director at Cleveland Clinic London, says: “The key to Cleveland Clinic’s global success is our value-based, patient-centric model of care and maintaining close ties between our hospitals, and collaborations between our physicians worldwide. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is a prime example of this, and we are looking forward to replicating the model in London, where we are building a world-class team to excel in clinical care, research and education.” -- Tradearabia News Service
