50 top speakers for cancer summit in Bahrain

Fifty local, regional and international experts will deliver lectures during upcoming Third Combined Gulf Cancer Conference in Bahrain.

Organized by The Bahrain Cancer Society (BCS)  and under the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King of Bahrain, President of the Supreme Council for Women and Honorary President of the Bahrain Cancer Society, the will be held from December 7 to 9.

The conference will offer delegates the opportunity to benefit from their vast experience and expertise in the most up to date techniques and advances in the treatment of cancer - with parallel sessions dedicated to reconstructive surgery.

Dr Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Fakhro, president of BCS, expressed his thanks and appreciation to Her Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, for her enduring and gracious support to the conference and to BCS. Her dedication and commitment to citizens and residents of Bahrain who are battling cancer is a beacon of hope for their future.

Dr Fakhro noted that BCS has partnered with The Gulf Federation for Cancer Control, the Gulf Centre for Cancer Control & Prevention and the Bahrain Association of Plastic Surgery in organizing the conference in order to achieve compliance with internationally recognized treatment standards delivered by hospitals and high-level academic institutions.

Dr Shahid Fadhul, chairman of the Bahrain Association of Plastic Surgery, said that the conference will cover the latest, state of the art surgical techniques in breast, head and neck reconstruction after tumour resection so that patients can move forward with confidence in their lives.

The conference will be held in conjunction with the regular meeting of the Paris Breast Surgery Forum, sponsored by the Gustave Rossy Institute, one of the world's largest cancer research institutes and the first European Cancer Center.

The conference will provide increased opportunities and knowledge for doctors and health workers in various cancer control programs within the GCC, allowing them access to global expertise and providing them with the knowledge needed to develop and implement enhanced cancer treatments and policies within their own health sectors. – TradeArabia News Service
