Sharjah plans to develop desalination units

SHARJAH, October 8, 2017

The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) has announced plans to develop desalination plants and transmission and distribution systems to improve water quality in several areas of Sharjah.

Sewa added that 83 electronic sensors have been installed to measure water pressure and flow in networks as well as intelligent voice devices to identify water leaks in the transmission and distribution lines as part of the important strategic projects implemented by the Authority, reported Wam, the Emirates official news agency.

This came during a meeting of Dr Engineer Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sewa, with a French delegation from Sweez Company, specialised in the development of desalination units, water networks and water quality improvement.

The French delegation was headed by Pierre Yavis Policon, CEO of the company in the Middle East, Africa and India.

Al Leem stressed that all the projects of the Authority that will be implemented during the coming period use the latest global technologies in this vital sector.
