DHA to host Dubai Health Forum in Jan

DUBAI, December 27, 2016

Dubai Health Authority (DHA) said it will be launching the ‘Dubai Health Forum’, aimed at exploring health technologies and initiatives that aim to promote and sustain healthy lifestyles and healthcare delivery outcomes, next month in Dubai, UAE.

The event will take place on January 9 and 10, at the Grand Hyatt.

The forum will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

DHA revealed in a recent press conference that it is launching the forum with the aim of providing a platform to bring together highly respected decision makers, health practitioners, international guest speakers and industry experts to launch next-generation, game-changing technologies in the medical field, said a statement.

During the press conference, Humaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board and director general of DHA said that the forum will be a driver towards engaging and networking with various healthcare stakeholders to share ideas, perspectives, and forward-thinking trends and acquiring actionable insights regarding Dubai’s future directions in healthcare to name a few, it said.

Al Qatami said that the forum’s axes and main topics are based on the Dubai Strategy (2016-2021), adding that the topics that will be discussed at the forum were chosen carefully in line with the authority’s goals, which revolve around development and innovation in health to achieve worldwide excellence.

The event will also be providing an opportunity for technology companies and service providers to showcase how they are innovating smart new solutions.

It will also enable partners to show their leadership role in their industry and communities and promote collaborations between public and private sector companies taking the lead in health.

The DHF embraces investors, entrepreneurs and the wider business community investing in health breakthroughs and shows appreciation to the health practitioners and experts who deliver progress on the ground daily.

Dr Manal Taryam, CEO of Primary Healthcare Centers at DHA, said that the forum will feature sessions on 3D printing with a focus on children with amputation who need artificial limbs as well as utilizing 3D printing for making medication.

She said the forum will also see a focus on the use of virtual reality in training medical students and it will host speakers who will talk about how to foresee the future in order to deal with epidemic diseases.

Dr Taryam also said that the forum will see Arab health ministers talk about their experiences in their countries.

Dr Mohammad Al Redha, director of organisational transformation at DHA, said the forum will also feature a Health Technology Park that will feature a TEDx-style platform, where success stories from the private sector will be shared. It will also include a social media corner, where social media influencers in the field of health will take the centre stage to discuss the latest trends and issues in the health sector.

Al Redha added that the future of surgeries aided by robots will be showcased as well as the technological evolution of robotics in the field of health and the evolution of endoscopic surgeries. – TradeArabia News Service
