DHA to shut down health centre

DUBAI, UAE , June 29, 2016

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is planning to shut down its Al Qusais primary health centre and shift its operations to Al Mizhar primary health centre, a press release revealed.

Patients registered with Al Qusais health centre will now have access to facilities with several specialist clinics at Al Mizhar health centre, which is a bigger centre that has more specialised health services and support services including radiology, ultrasound screening and mammogram screening, the release added.

Dr Amal Bahroun, director of health centres department within the primary healthcare sector at the DHA, said: “Al Gusais health centre needed an upgrade and we are looking into plans to build a state-of-the-art health centre in the Al Gusais area. Clients will have access to the Al Mizhar health centre that has several specialist clinics and has a capacity to hold 28 family medicine clinics and 22 dental clinics – both clinics work in two shifts on a daily basis and the centre will hold 30 weekly maternity and child health clinics. Thus, the centre is well planned to easily accommodate additional number of clients.”

“Several of the staff members from the Al Qusais will shift base to Al Mizhar. The Al Mizhar centre has several consultation rooms and can easily accommodate additional clients. The centre also has speciality clinics including diabetes and ENT clinics,” she added.

The Al Qusais health centre will be closed on July 2. –TradeArabia News Service
