Joint GCC push to fight sickle cell disease

An initiative is underway to unite GCC efforts to confront a chronic blood disorder affecting thousands of people in the Gulf.
Doctors across the region plan to join hands to form a GCC body focused on sickle cell anaemia, Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) genetic blood diseases consultant Dr Jaffar Al Tooq told the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
