The Arab Division of the International Academy of Pathology (IAP-AD) has awarded the hosting of its 2015 annual meeting to Dubai, UAE, following a presentation by Dr Mouza Al Sharhan, president of the Emirates Medical Assocaition (EMA) and president of the Emirates Pathology Society (EPS).

Under the theme ‘New Horizons in Pathology,’ the IAP-AD 27th Annual Meeting will be held jointly with the second Annual Meeting of the Emirates Pathology Society (ESPC2015) from November 25 to 28 at the Conrad Hotel.

The field and science of pathology plays a vital role in the effective diagnosis of diseases with up to 70 per cent of clinical decisions based on laboratory test results, said Dr Al Sharhan.

The Pathology Society anticipates wide participation from pathologists throughout the region, including leaders, board members and faculty of Arab pathology organisations and leading international speakers.

Luminaries in the field will gather to discuss the state-of-the-art practice in Anatomic Pathology through keynote talks, case discussions, workshops and interactive sessions.

"The scientific and educational programme is being formulated in collaboration with the IAP-AD and with participation from a local, regional and international advisory committee whose members are world leading experts in the field of pathology,” said Dr Al Sharhan.

“The content will be of the highest international calibre. Specific topics will include: breast pathology, neuropathology, genitourinary / nephropathology, female reproductive pathology, paediatric pathology, and digital pathology. Two pre-conference workshops, dermatopathology and haematopathology, complete the course offerings," he added. - TradeArabia News Service
