New health centre to open in Muharraq

A new state-of-the-art health centre will open its doors in Halat Abu Maher in Muharraq, Bahrain, tomorrow (December 23).

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa will inaugurate the new facility which will boost Bahrain's medical infrastructure, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The three-storey centre, with 98 employees, will serve the residents of blocs 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 2016 and 2017.

The ground floor features 12 family clinics, a lab, categorisation rooms, a pharmacy, X-ray, and diabetes room, a registrar and rooms for short-staying patients

The first floor includes 12 dental clinics and 12 family clinics, while the second floor features a physiotherapy rehab ward and a child and mother's clinic.

The main building also includes meeting rooms, a medical learning hall, administrative offices and stores.

The project was awarded to Aradous Contracting and Maintenance for BD6.7 million ($17.8 million), which included furnishing and equipment.

The new centre, which will start receiving patients on Sunday (December 28), reflects the Premier's keenness on upgrading health services and developing world-standard medical facilities.
