Hazardous waste focus for Oman summit

Aspects of identifying, transport, treatment, storage facilities and the legislation on trans-boundary movement of hazardous waste will form part of the agenda for an upcoming waste management conference in Muscat.

Organised by Fleming Gulf, the third International Conference for Waste Management Oman will reset the platform for industry and government institutions to discuss the next phase to managing waste.

Scheduled for the 7 to 8 April at the Al Bustan Palace in Muscat Oman, the conference is supported by key solution leaders in the field of waste management.

Giving a local perspective of reducing and reusing in hazardous waste management will be a representative of Al Ahlia Environmental Services, a Silver Sponsor at the conference.

It is the first hazardous waste facility in Oman under Public-Private Partnership with facilities in Sohar and Duqm. Exhibiting as a Bronze Sponsor will be Greece company Polyeco. The company provides rehabilitation and decontamination services, integrated waste management services and tank cleaning and sludge treatment services to the oil & gas, marine, power production and refining industries around the world.

Featuring a case-study from Finland, Martti Malmivirta will present on integrating technologies and services of different waste streams to maximize materials and energy yields. Malmivirta is the Co-Founder of the Finnish Material Efficiency Alliance (FMEA) and a Gold Sponsor at the event.
