Bahrain to build special hospital for addicts

Manama, November 18, 2013

A new specialised hospital for drugs and alcohol addiction will be built in Bahrain, a report said.

The Cabinet, yesterday approved a parliamentary proposal and directed the Health Ministry to take necessary action, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

"The idea for a specialised hospital has been with us for a very long time, even before MPs suggested it, as we are looking to expand treatment services for addicts especially youths," said Minister of State for Information Affairs and official government spokeswoman Sameera Rajab.

"The new hospital will help us expand the range of services provided and ensure that better treatment is provided." – TradeArabia News Service
