Activelife to sponsor TrainYAS evenings

Abu Dhabi, April 21, 2013

Activelife, Daman’s health and lifestyle programme, has announced its sponsorship of the TrainYAS evenings that take place on the Formula 1 track at Yas Marina Circuit every Tuesday.

The evenings, rebranded as TrainYAS by Activelife, are free to the public and combine the best of TrainYAS exercise initiatives with the Activelife philosophy of a healthy lifestyle, a statement from Daman said.

Dr Sven Rohte, Daman’s chief commercial officer, said: “This is truly a powerful partnership between two groups, combining Daman’s philosophy of promoting a healthier lifestyle amongst community with Yas Marina Circuit’s provision of a unique venue that motivates both sports enthusiasts and casual visitors. This partnership is a formula for a healthier community.”

“Yas Marina Circuit is proud of the role TrainYAS has played in fostering a culture of health and fitness in Abu Dhabi,” said Al Tareq Al Ameri, senior director, commercial, Yas Marina Circuit. “This partnership with Daman, and the introduction of the TrainYAS by Activelife name marks a renewed focus on our commitment to the Abu Dhabi community. We are delighted to partner with Daman and thanks to their support, we look forward to welcoming even more members of the community to TrainYAS.”

To further promote the healthy lifestyle brand Activelife, Daman has appointed Egyptian triathlete Omar Nour as its ambassador.

“Omar Nour is the perfect person to promote our Activelife brand. His inspirational journey saw him transform his sedentary lifestyle into that of a potential Olympian medallist by taking the first step of joining a local triathlon,” said Dr Rohte. “He demonstrates everything Activelife embodies which is the simple fact that all it takes to get fit is getting involved in community activities and commitment.”

Nour is currently in training to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics and hopes to become the first Egyptian triathlete in Olympic history. Daman is supporting him to reach his goal, the statement said.

TrainYAS by Activelife will introduce to the F1 circuit a host of health-related activities. Daman’s health support team will be on hand at regular intervals to perform free screenings and offer advice whilst expert nutritionists and other special guests will make appearances throughout the year.

Over 2,000 visitors attend the weekly TrainYAS evenings. Fitness workshops are also held regularly for those interested and more information is available on request. – TradeArabia News Service
