30 accidents as Bahrain roads flood

Manama, November 21, 2012

Thirty accidents were reported within two hours yesterday as motorists struggled to cope with  Bahrain's first major downpour of the year.

Flooding was reported across the country with Isa Town, Sanabis, Manama and Riffa being the worst-affected, said a report in our sister publication the Gulf Daily News.

Many people were late for work as a result of traffic chaos, while children had to wade through water to make it to school and many key commercial areas were inaccessible.

Civil Aviation Affairs Meteorology Directorate officials confirmed 7.99mm of rain had fallen since Monday night while hail was also reported.

Clear skies have been forecast for the next three days, but the weather could return on Saturday and Sunday. – TradeArabia News Service
