Zain Bahrain names new Human Resources director

MANAMA, May 14, 2022

Zain Bahrain, a telecommunications industry innovator in the Kingdom, has announced the appointment of Rana Al Majed as the new director of human resources. Al Majed joined Zain Bahrain in 2003 as a sales agent, later moving to the Human Resources department, where she conducted job analyses and helped the company select the right people as part of its Talent Management Unit. 
 
Her career journey covers the full spectrum of the field of human resources, including stints in the Learning and Development Unit, the Compensation and Benefits Unit, and the Recruitment Unit, said a statement from Zain. 
 
Al Majed will lead Zain Bahrain’s Human Resources department in her new capacity, utilizing her expertise to create a more resilient and flexible workforce. She will report directly to the CEO, it stated.
 
Lauding the appointment, Zain Bahrain CEO Duncan Howard said: "Al Majed has already proven herself to be an integral part of the Zain Bahrain family. Her contributions throughout the years have helped strengthen our team and enrich their skillsets."
 
"We are delighted to promote her to Director of Human Resources, where she will offer her insights and expertise towards building a Zain Bahrain team capable of overcoming all future challenges," he added.
 
With a Master’s degree from DePaul University, Executive Coach Level 7 certification from ILM institute and Executive Leadership Program from Oxford Business School, as well as Leading Digital Transformation from IMD Business School; Al Majed is a seasoned professional who brings with her 19 years of experience in human resources and the telecommunications sector.
 
On her new role, Al Majed said: "I am honored to be entrusted with this key role at Zain Bahrain, my home for my entire career. I look forward to helping Zain Bahrain build the team it needs to improve its market performance further." 
 
A leading group listed on the Bahrain Bourse, Zain Bahrain is a part of Zain Group, a leading telecommunications operator across the Middle East and Africa, which provides mobile voice and data services to 48.9 million active customers as at 30 September 2020.
