Huawei is showcasing how its technologies and solutions can help fast-track digital transformation while advancing talent development in Saudi Arabia at the International Conference & Exhibition for Education (ICEE 2022).

 

On display is Intelligent Education, such as Converged campus network, Smart classroom and Huawei's high-performance computing (HPC) at Saudi Arabia's largest event for the education industry. 

 

Organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE), the summit is being held at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre between May 8 and 11. 

 

Leading academics

ICEE 2022 brought leading academics and world-renowned educational institutions to discuss cooperation aimed at upgrading the kingdom's quality of education to the highest international standards.

 

Eric Yang, CEO of Huawei Saudi Arabia, said: "Saudi Arabia has made significant gains in digitising its education sector, which accelerated during the pandemic. Such efforts will further boost digital transformation in line with Saudi Vision 2030." 

 

Educational institutions are under pressure to evolve to meet the demands of the digital economy. They find it challenging to modernise education because of the uneven distribution of education resources, limited digital adoption, and inflexible teaching approaches. 

 

Outdated ICT infrastructure

Many also suffer from outdated ICT infrastructure and data silos, making it difficult to elevate their capabilities in modern teaching, efficient management, and research innovation.

 

But there's momentum among Saudi educational institutions to deploy advanced infrastructure and develop innovative talent, leading to an increase of smart campuses in the kingdom. They are turning to cloud computing as a foundation to improve quality and efficiency in teaching, learning, management, and research. Cloud also accelerates education inclusiveness while improving education outcomes through digital learning.
